How AI-native software delivery strengthens operational resilience in banking

Banks are evolving critical platforms while meeting operational resilience requirements and regulatory expectations across interconnected live environments. In a Finextra interview, OBSS CEO Zafer Şen explains how AI-native delivery supports this by structuring the delivery model around AI rather than adding it as a standalone tool. AI takes an active role across analysis, architecture, design, testing and operations within a governed engineering framework, while people stay accountable for critical decisions and final approvals. Şen highlights four capabilities that strengthen delivery resilience: AI-supported log monitoring and root-cause analysis, observability by design, quality gating built on practices such as GitOps and acceptance test-driven development, and legacy code intelligence that builds structured context around existing systems.

Şen also sets out how banks can take AI-native delivery from individual teams to enterprise scale. OBSS focuses on three mechanisms: risk-based delivery design that matches governance to the criticality of each workload, standardised execution guides that make delivery consistent and auditable, and continuous knowledge retention so reusable patterns and delivery evidence build value over time. His recommended starting point is a bounded, high-value delivery area with measurable outcomes, which can then serve as a blueprint for a wider rollout. The outcome is more controlled, traceable and predictable change across critical systems, supporting both operational resilience and regulatory confidence.
