You prepared a Timepiece report using the main reporting page. After setting all parameters you can save it as a Parameter Set and re-load it quickly when you want to open it again. However, if you wanted to have the same report as a dashboard gadget, you had to re-configure the Timepiece gadget from scratch. Well… no more. With this week’s release, you can configure Timepiece gadgets with Parameter Sets
How to Configure Timepiece Gadgets with Parameter Sets?
When you open the configuration page of a Timepiece gadget, at the top of the config panel you can select to configure the gadget with a parameter set or configure all parameters from scratch.

When the “Configure gadget with a save parameter set” option is selected, the report parameters in the selected parameter set will be used for the gadget.
Even better, if you change the param set configuration on the main page and save it, you will see the change reflected in your gadgets as well.
By the way, your existing gadget configurations will not be affected by this change.
You can get more details about this feature from its documentation page.
Is it Live?
The Parameter Set configuration for Gadgets option is available now on Timepiece for Jira Cloud.
For Jira Data Center, this feature is coming soon (TBA). Stay tuned for updates!
