CSV Export Customization in Timepiece – Time in Status for Jira

We’re happy to introduce “CSV Export Customization” options for Timepiece – Time in Status for Jira. This update gives you greater control over how your data is exported, whether through on-screen exports or the REST API.

What’s New?

With the new CSV Export Customization options, you can now adjust three key settings for your CSV exports:

1. CSV Delimiter
   • Previously, it was fixed to “comma” (,).
   • Now, you can choose between “comma” (,) or “semicolon” (;).
2. Decimal Separator
   • Previously, it was fixed to “dot” (.).
   • Now you can select either “dot” (.) or “comma” (,).
3. Value Quotation Mark
   • Previously, it was fixed to “double quotes” (").
   • Now you can use “double quotes” ("), “single quotes” ('), or no quotation marks.

Why It Matters?

CSV Export Customization options will help you; Adapt to localization needs, such as European systems using semicolons and commas; Streamline integration with tools that require specific formatting, and Save time by avoiding manual adjustments after export.

How to Use?

For on-screen exports, you can customize your settings in the Advanced section of the export screen.

For REST API requests, you can use the csvFieldSeparator, decimalSeparator, valueQuotationMark parameters on your request.

Is it live?

CSV Export Customization options are introduced to Timepiece for Jira Data Center starting with v5.3.0.

Edit on Jan 7th, 2025: CSV customization options are now also available on Timepiece for Jira Cloud.
